GROUNDBREAKING INTERVENTIONS FOR FOSTER AND ADOPTIVE FAMILES    Tele-Seminar                                                                                                                   Parenting Traumatized Children and Families in Foster Care and Adoption 

This interactive workshop is designed to familiarize parents with new and imaginative ways for working with traumatized children in foster care and adoption. Participants will be provided with 4 long term interventions that have proven successful in working with children over the age of three in foster care and adoption. Participants will learn structured treatment activities, view examples, and receive an emailed PDF detailed handout explaining the goals of the interventions, materials needed, and the "how to" approach for each methodology. This workshop is recommended for parents, pre and post adoption.

The Resilient Spirit from Adoption to Family: Adoption Guest Panel                                                    In Honor of National Adoption Month

Host: Jeanette Yoffe, M.A., MFT

Adoption, adopting, and adopted, 3 terms which are made up of many complex emotions and experiences from parent to child and child to parent. In this event, participants will hear adoption stories inside and out. Panel guests include Adoptive Parents, Birth Parents and Adoptees. Participants will be able to ask questions and meet guests. Workshop is recommended for parents of foster and/or adopted children ages 0-17 and for professionals working with foster and adoptive children and families.

Due to the tremendous success of Groundbreaking Interventions Part I, we are pleased to offer a second presentation with even more techniques and new and imaginative ways of working with traumatized children in foster care and adoption. Through this experiential workshop, participants will be provided with a wide variety of play-based methodologies and interventions that have proven successful in working with children over the age of five. Participants will learn structured treatment activities, view examples, and receive a detailed handout explaining the goals of each treatment, materials needed, and the "how to approach" for each methodology. Workshop is recommended for professionals working in the mental health field. These interventions are best applicable for children ages 5 to 17. To attend this workshop you do not need to have taken Groundbreaking Interventions Part I.
